Dr. James M. Weisz is a board-certified ophthalmologist providing premium care at Connecticut Retina Consultants, located in Hamden, Trumbull, and Fairfield, Connecticut. He actively engages in clinical research for the retinal and uveitic disease.
Dr. Weisz graduated summa cum laude from Harvard College, where he also earned Phi Beta Kappa honors. He received his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City, where he was a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and recipient of both the Sandoz award and the Edith and Denton McKane memorial award for outstanding scholarship and research.
Dr. Weisz continued his medical training in ophthalmology at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles, which was followed by fellowship training in uveitis, also at the Jules Stein Eye Institute. He completed specialty training in medical and surgical retinal diseases at the Wilmer Eye Institute, part of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore.
When not helping patients, Dr. Weisz enjoys chess, tennis, and skiing.
